2023 Recap: National Age & Open Championships

Over April, the Marion Swimming Club competed at the Australian Age & Open Championships in the Gold Coast.

A big thank you to our coaches Shaun & Joel after 13 days of racing, recording every stroke, every split, all the times, and helping our swimmers get through their ups and down. We really appreciate everything you do!

We had some fantastic results over the two meets including some incredible swims from:

  • Kyle Chalmers - GOLD 100m Freestyle Open, SILVER 50m Butterfly Open

  • Matt Temple - GOLD 200m Butterfly Open, GOLD 100m Butterfly Open

  • Tom Lightfoot - BRONZE 400m IM Age

  • Kalyce Pressler - SILVER 200m Breastroke Age, BRONZE 200IM Age

  • Meg Harris - SILVER 50m Freestyle Open

  • Ryan Clifford - SILVER 200m Butterfly Age

  • Clancy Luscombe - BRONZE 200m Butterfly Age, BRONZE 400IM Age, SILVER 200m Backstroke Age

  • Allegra Crean - BRONZE 400IM Age

  • Harrison Biddell - SILVER 100m Breastroke Age, GOLD 200m Breastroke Age

  • Corben Powell - BRONZE 1500m Freestyle Age

  • Jasmin Fullgrabe - BRONZE 100m Butterfly MC Age, SILVER 100m Freestyle MC Age, SILVER 200IM MC Age

Head Coach Shaun said “Im really proud of what the team has achieved over the last two weeks. We have seen tremendous improvement throughout the group which has led to some outstanding results. Thank you to all the swimmers, coaches, and support team who have driven these results. I am excited for what world trials and the rest of 2023 will bring for the club”.
