• If you would like to book a trial please fill out our ‘Join Now Form’ located on the bottom of the page. Once you have filled out the form someone will get back to you with the squad that will be most suitable to your swimmer.

  • Although the SA Aquatic and leisure centre and Marion swimming Club have a strong connection and work together to provide the best program possible the are both run separately.

The coaches are employees of the SA Aquatic and Leisure centre. The fortnightly squad fees that each swimmer pays goes towards their squad fees.

Marion Swimming Club is run by a committee. To join MSC for competitions each swimmer must be registered.

Registration fees for MSC are separate to the squad fees.

  • If you go to the registration tab, there is lots of information about how to register with the club. If you need any further assistance, please contact our club registrar.

  • We encourage all of our swimmers to race every 6 weeks. Depending on the meet dates will determine how often swimmers should race. Swimmers are not expected to race at every meet otherwise it will be harder to see progression but it is important to race often to get more practice.

  • J2 swimmers should enter for 50m events only. The lead coach Bozi will let your swimmer know when they are ready for their first competition and the best strokes to enter.

All other squads should speak to their coaches directly about event entry.

  • Each fortnight a coach’s newsletter is sent to all families. This will be emailed to the emergency contact for each swimmer.

We also have Facebook pages which has some updates about the club but also our wonderful achievements.

Click here to our Facebook Page

Each squad also has their own Facebook page. Please speak to your child’s coach about joining the group.

  • There is an expectation that if you enter your athlete into a Meet or Carnival, and if that child is under 18 years of age, an adult caregiver will be present at that meet or carnival for the entire time the athlete is present to supervise that athlete. It is not acceptable to drop your athlete off and leave. Athlete supervision and care is NOT the responsibility of Swimming SA or the Marion Swimming Club or its representatives.

    * If you enter your athlete in a Carnival or Meet, you agree to make yourself available to time keep and /or officiate as required. Please do not enter your athlete if you are unable to make yourself available. As there should always be a supervising adult present with athletes under 18, this should not present an issue. This does not mean you will have to Officiate at every Swimming SA meet, as Officiating is arranged on a roster basis, however, please expect to be rostered on to time keep at EVERY Club Carnival your athlete competes at.

  • 1. Go to Events again on Swim Central. Now you will see the meet you just entered appear here.

    2. Go to View Event

    3. There are 3 tabs here, ENTRIES, TICKETS AND DETAILS.

    4. To nominate yourself or another adult family member to officiate go to DETAILS and scroll down and click on Position Nominations.

    5. Choose the correct family member from the drop down bar.

    6. Scroll through and select Official by clicking on the NOMINATE button. Some events have more than 1 session, be mindful to select for a session that you will be there for. (This may mean you need to have a look back in the entries section for your swimmer and double-check which sessions they are swimming in.)

    7. You will be notified by email once SwimCentral has activated your nomination.

    8. Marion Swimming Club will email you or post the roster on our community Facebook page as well before the swim meet. This email will tell you what role you are fulfilling. You may need to go back into swim central and nominate for a second session if we are short on officials.

  • Please be aware that you, or another adult in your family, will need to officiate at every meet your child enters. Swimming competitions require lots of volunteers to hold an event. But don’t worry when you’re starting out you will be given duties that are very easy and require no experience. The role will be explained to you at the officials briefing before the swimming session begins.

Please address these promptly before your first meet.

    1. Working With Children Screening which requires the submission of an application form for approval link here

    2. Covid-19 requirement which is a quick tutorial.

Please email our club’s official’s nomination on officials@marionsc.org.au with any concerns or questions.

All our parents have officiated, and we remember what it was like the first time. And after the event, you will realise it’s actually pretty easy. Officials do not need to buy venue entry tickets for S.A.A.L.C.

Most importantly, be mindful that it will be important to ensure your child is cared for by another adult in the stands, particularly for their first meet.

  • 1. Wait until your officiating role has been confirmed, see above.

    2. Go to Events again. You will see the meet/s you have entered.

    3. Go to View Event for the event you wish to buy spectator tickets for. If you are officiating at S.A.A.L.C you do not need to buy a ticket for that session.

    4. There are 3 tabs here, ENTRIES, TICKETS, AND DETAILS.

    5. Go to TICKETS

    6. Scroll down and carefully select which tickets you would like to buy, for which session etc. You will need to buy a ticket for sessions you are attending but not

    officiating.

    7. You can select to purchase a program here, which you collect on entry to the venue.

    8. Go to shopping cart and pay for your purchase.

    9. You can go into this tab numerous times and buy extra tickets etc. Although limits may apply to ticket purchases depending on the current covid-19 restrictions
